“in Christ we live and move and have our being”

“This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.” Colossians 1:6 NLT

Dear Friends and family,

Considering, Pastors gathering in Kpai Village, July
Cassava leaf and rice, Kpai Village

If you haven’t heard from us it is because the last two months have been full.

July we travelled to Kpai Village, Bong County, and met with pastors and church leaders from eight villages. This was a one day gathering and we are scheduled to return early next year for a follow-up time.

August 27 we finished our six week teacher training at New Gate Center. This was the jump start for a small school, New Gate Academy. James and I, in prayer and considering the needs of our church members, decided to go ahead with the opening of New Gate Academy, September 14th. We enrolled nine students plus William, who is homeschooling.

Today I am reminded of how quickly life can change, especially for the poor. Their lives are precarious and easily capsized by daily struggles. Food, clothing and shelter are critical to their survival. Please pray for one family we have been reaching out to. There are six children, the youngest has not been well. The older children are always coming to us because they are hungry. The father refuses to talk to us. We love to help the children, but want the parents to be involved. We had hoped the children could be part of our school, but with no parental commitment we don’t know how to proceed. Our nephew, Jacob was with us for a few days. He was having problems seeing and was in severe pain. Thank God for opthamologists. He was treated for high pressure in his eye.
Praise God and THANK YOU very much to those of you who were able to help us with our recent financial low. James and I are always so amazed at how God looks after our needs. We humbly realise that we are often limiting God’s work by our own lack of faith to trust Him to provide.
This Sunday we began a new step forward in our church forming a leadership team. With a congregation that has three children for every adult attending there is many opportunities for ministry. We will start an adult Sunday School class, to prepare ourselves to teach the children. We continue to pray for a pastor of our church.

James has been focussed on finishing construction at New Gate Center. Our next big job is flooring. Plumbing is in, our electrical is almost complete. We are expecting material in the container that is coming that will help us to furnish the apartments and put in appliances. Please pray for the container business to be completed. The bureaucrats seem to be getting the upper hand and delaying everything. Pray for Dr. Jerome and his crew, that they will be able to see this come to a close SOON!

Eric and Betty Luogon

The newly weds, Eric and Betty Luogon are living at New Gate with their daughter Linda. Eric completed the teacher training program and is now our New Gate Academy teacher. Their lives have been full since the wedding as a week later Eric’s mother passed away.

We remain in Christ, our source of comfort and fearless purpose, James, Kathleen and William Ngenda
